I’m trying to set up a child theme so I can make customizations, but it seems like all of the page formatting in the bresponze theme is done outside of the style.css file. As a child theme, the page looks broken and disoriented. I really don’t want to make the customizations to the main theme since it makes updating a real pain. I have it set up on a demo site right now so you can see what it’s doing. http://notsomodern.com/backyard/2016/03/10/hello-world/ Any advice would be appreciated.

Ok, I figured out that the child theme needs the skeleton.css file to display properly; however, I still can’t figure out how to adjust the column widths. Changing the values in skeleton.css doesn’t seem to affect the page.

    Hello,

That’s great, You have done it yourself. We’ve also posted the guide about child Theme creation in our forum before.

Since the theme is responsive, you have adjust the width of the css based on your secreen resolution. In skeleton.css file, you can see different device with css style references. First find out your device width, based on that you can change the width of site layout using skeleton.css file.

    Hope you understand.

    Thanks.
